Shopping day at Jusco One Utama. Very cute photo. Both of them are hungry. I don't know what are they talking about but for sure they wanted to eat something. I must get something for them if not sure we can't continue window shopping.

Pity the bear! Look at the eye... it's almost blur or partial blind hahaha..... My daughter teddy bear. She love it very much even though the bear is in poor condition.

Sleeping again! Getting babies to sleep better at night.

When Krit was one year old he has problem with his night sleep. The problem was he could not stay asleep throughout the night. He would wake up at 2.30am every night and refuse to go back to sleep. He will cried for almost 1 hour. wow...this is a peak time to have a sweet dream... Normally I will take turn with my husband to take care of him.

I did discussed this problem with doctor and some of professional fisioteraphy and they suggest to me:

• Don't let him sleep during day time
• Take bath before sleep
• Do some massage
• A darkened room
• Put soft music on bedtime

Above tips is really work but must continuing practise it. Now he is better but must attached to me throughout the night. I read one article by Anna Thom saying that:

Little chimps cling on to their mother's chest or back, a tiny lamp follows it's mum everywhere she goes, little duckling seek shelter under mother hen's wing.....

Ha..ha...ha...... I think he is very tired today. He wake up at 6.30am. We leave home at about 7.45am and reach at school 8.30am. Today teacher bring him for exercise and after came back from exercise he was slept on the table. His teacher told me that it's ok he sleep for a while.

Yesterday Krit went to School. After came back from school he is very tired. I let him sit in baby chair while I'm doing others things. Ermmmm...... he slept after 10 minutes on the baby chair. He really can sleep.... so I can continue to finish my work. Today his school doing trip to KLCC for swimming. I'm not joining them because Krit is still not 100% recover from his flu. Today I will be at home for the whole day hureyyyyyyyy.....

Even though still fever but she concentrate to do her homework until finish. Look at her cool fever at her forehead. Cool fever is very good to reduce the fever. Now she is getting better but still on medication. I feel like a nurse taking care of two patients hahaha........ Luckily Krit is recover from fever and completed his antibiotic.

Child Balancing - why crawling is important?

Tunnel

Krit did not crawl when he was a baby but he straight away walk. I'm very happy when he can walk by the age 2 years old. He can walk but he has problem with his balancing. I get advised from professional one of the EIP centre. She said that every children must crawl in order for them to balance their body. When the child is crawling they will use their hands and legs to help them.

What we can do with this tunnel? It's toys? Ya.... it's a toys but beside that we use this tunnel to practise our child to crawl through the tunnel. This is for them to learn how to crawl.

Bridge

Bridge also one of the tools can help on balancing. The bridge is not stable when we step on it will move around. This is very good for them to control their balancing.

Parenting Talk

I just want to share to all parents with special child needs. There will be a talk on the Structured Teaching and General parenting to children with Special Needs on 31 May at 3pm. The place will located at Kits4kids, No. 31 Jalan Penaga, Bukit Bandaraya, Bangsar. Registration fee is RM5. Please noted that seats are limited on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please call 03-20938815 if you need more details.

I just called to this number and talk to one ladies she said the seats are still available and the talk will be 1 to 2 hours. To working parents I think this is a good time to go because it's on Saturday. Go there to get your knowledge make friends with others parents as well. I hope my husband is not working on that day if not I will miss the chance to go there.

Fever Again!

Now is my daughter getting fever. She has very high fever on early morning 4.30am. I can't sleep until 5.30am because worried about her. After give her medicine and put cool fever she is getting better. Today I need to monitor her condition if getting worse I must bring her to see doctor. Krit is getting better and I think tomorrow he can go to school already.

Sensory Motor

Pisha and Krit are slept with their daddy in the room. Both of them are nor feeling well today. I tough want to bring Krit to school tomorrow. But when thinking his condition are still not well so it's better to stay at home until he is getting better. You may wonder now is a school holiday why Krit need to go to school right? Yes... their school is open and they are following office hour but only started at 9am until 1pm. Yahoooooooo.. I also can holiday tomorrow.

Concentrate to catch the balls

Here I wanted to share a little bit about sensory motor especially for those low visual or blindness. Sensory motor is important to learn about environment which is with sight, sound, smell, taste & touch. This is to stimulate and encourage them to use their body to touch the object. Look at Krit picture he is in the small places with many balls inside there. We teach him how to move and observe do he try to catch the balls or what is he doing if he is in that place. I can say that sensory motor is important for child to differentiate between safety and danger.

Sunday Activities

Today my husband at home so I quite free because he can take care of our children. Suphakrit is my son name and Suphitsa is my daughter name. Both name are match each others. We use to call our princess as Pisha and prince as Krit. Sunday activities will be relaxing at home but my husband wanted to go Giant supermarket at One utama. Since Krit is not feeling well I would rather to stay at home. Every time he is fever I will really need to take of him. I'm scared that his fever getting worse.

Pisha the most happier if we want to go out. She love shopping complex especially One Utama. For One Utama is quite boring but my husband prefer to go there because of parking. He said if go out to KL the trafic and parking is the worse he hate. Ohhhhh Ooooo.... I heard my son is crying. I need to go now.... I will update more after this.

Loving each others

My son is special child but we love him very much until my daughter get jealous. She always ask me why mummy love him more than me? Everybody also love him nobody love me. Oh my god this is a big challenges for me. It's very hard to explain to her. But I always told her that I love both of them and why I'm give more attention to her brother is because he is special child. All of us must give him warmly love and moral support to him.

My son is 5 years old and my daughter is only 6 years old. The different between them is only one year. My daughter is still need attention from us. I'm truly understand her. But she is very smart girl. I'm proud with her and she is always be a best student in he class.

What is "Cortical Blindness."?

Visual Stimulation at HUKM

"Cortical blindness is the total or partial loss of vision in a normal-appearing eye caused by damage to the visual area in the brain".

Doctor has declared my son as a cortical blindness. He can see but on how much he can see we also not sure. For sure he can see the bright object. May be object that he see did not connect or process by his brain. Firstly when doctor told me I couldn't accept this and was up sad. But after a while I started to understand and realised that this is a reality that I must do the best for my son. He is special child to me and to my family. Doctor advised us to keep on stimulate him and hope one day he can be better than this.

Look at my son photo he is very cute baby. During he was one month old he is very healthy and he can smile to me and look at me. But after he discharge from hospital he is not look at me even though I'm talking to him. Doctor said we must always stimulate on his visual because doctor has declared him as a corticle blindness. Doctor refer us to HUKM ( Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia ) to meet neurology specialist there.

Until now I still bringing my son to HUKM for his regular check up. Doctor was refer him to fisioteraphy and speech therapy. I also registered him under Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat ( JKM ). As at for now I have quit my job just want to take care of him and bring him to school. His school will be at Malaysian Association Blindness ( MAB ). He need Early Intervention Program ( EIP ). Normally I will bring him there for 3 days a week.

What do you think about Miracle?

Why do I create this blog? Yes actually I wanted to write down all about my kids from the beginning until today. I have one princess and one prince. They love each others. My daughter always ask me to give her a little princess because she love to play with baby girl. My son is a special child he is now 5 years old. However he can't talk yet. Doctor said he is miracle chlid and his development will be delay. If others child can walk when they reach 1 year but my son only can walk when he is 2 years old.

I have done a lot of medical check up for my son included MRRI (brain scanning), eye and ear test, blood and urine test. All this things are normal except his brain. According to doctor his brain demage. He was admitted to ICU for 2 weeks when he was 2 months old. Doctor only give me 10% to hope however he is very strong and miracle it really happen. He is recover from his sickness and god wanted him to stay on in this world. I was spent RM 27,000 during he was admitted to Damansara Specialist Hospital. Woooow.......... it's a big amount for me and my husband. I believe miracle can happen again to his life and will always hope he will be a normal child in one day.
