Kindergarten Fees Increase
Today Pisha bring back her contact book from school. I thought it's for school holiday.. because every time school holiday teachers will informed parents through this contact book. Parents need to sign as agreed and pass back to teachers. When I open the book I saw Pisha monthly fees is increase by RM10 effective this coming August. This is due to inflation. Inflation can bring up the fees? Anyway we need to agree on that. Every body use inflation reason to increase the price.

Stimulating Tips
When is best time to stimulate your baby? I feel that stimulating activities will be good to do it in the morning especially when your baby in the good mood. A good time also is after a restful nap, when your baby is alert. Usually after feeding or breakfast is a best time for Krit. His stimulating is more to visual and sensory motor.
Do not stimulating your baby when: he is hungry, fretful or sleepy.
The important things for stimulation is to make the activities fun, and always praise and encourage your baby when he responds to stimulation.

Story and photos by CHARLES FERNANDEZ
MUSIC therapy is used in many areas, from helping patients with Alzheimer’s disease to children with developmental problems to those suffering from chronic illness.
However, music therapy does not cure but it is a process that helps patients cope and deal with their illnesses.
Caregivers who counsel this group of people on stress management teaches them to deal with their emotion using music if they are prone to anxiety attacks or anger.
Patience and persistence are vital in working with children with developmental disability and basic adaptive behavioural skills is a method to evaluate a child according to his/her suitability in a performing a particular task or routine exercise.
These were the key messages that were presented to parents of children with disabilities and caregivers by Datin Seri Siti Nooriah Ana Razak, the wife of the Federal Territories Minister, during a seminar on increasing awareness for autistic children held at the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The seminar was organised by the FT People’s Progressive Party and the FT Women Sports, Welfare and Health Association.
Siti Nooriah, who is chairman of the Yayasan Amal Wangsa, said parents with special children should not regard them as a burden but to take it as a test of patience and persistence in bringing up their children as useful members of society.
“If given the right guidance and care, they can be just as useful as any other child. It all depends on the willpower of the parents to lead them along the right path,” she said.
She added that it was important for parents to get the services of counsellors to help them cope with the daily emotional distress if they were not able to handle their autistic child.

Dr Alvin Ng Lai Onn, a psychologist from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, UKM, who was one of the three speakers at the seminar, said adaptive behaviour skills was used to assess and diagnose an individual according to their behaviour.
“In special children, behavioural patterns changes from time to time and it is parents and caregivers who have to help mould them according to the individual’s behaviour,” added Lai.
The other speakers were Shoba Ramanathan, a music therapist and Dr Hasnah Toran, special educationist.

Ball Stimulation

Look at the ball
I choose this ball to stimulate Krit. This is to help him to be more focus on the object and for his sensory motor. The ball is soft so every time I pass the ball to him I'll tell him "This is a ball. The ball is round ans soft." I use very simple word for him to understand. According to speech therapy always use a simple words and short sentences.

Habit
My corner
Look at Krit hand. What happen to his hand? Ermmm.... many people always ask me why I'm covered his hand? It's because of his HABIT. He likes to bite his fingers. Sometimes if he angry he will bite his fingers also. His teeth very sharp so to prevent from injure I has covered his hand with handkerchief or napkin.
One of his activities is standing in front of TV. I'm not sure how much he can see but he likes to watch TV and listen to the sound.
Jumping is become his habit also. He will feel happy if he can jump. Many time I tried to stop him from jumping but can't. If I leave him alone he will jump and bite his fingers and also fingernails. I'm still thinking the way how to stop him from his bad habit. Any one have an ideas? Do feel free to share with me.
